10/22/10 Weekly Menu and List

Welcome to the first free menu/grocery list for Donna's Delectables!  I plan to share some recipes that I will be trying from week to week.  I hope you enjoy them.  Below are the links to the recipes.  The grocery list is provided below as well as some "hints" from me to help you with the recipes.

Hints for Current Weekly Menu:

  • Beans can easily be left out of sloppy joes if you have picky eaters.  They still taste great!
  • I used the substitution of apricot preserves plus 2 tsp grated ginger root for the chicken thigh recipe because ginger preserves are not readily available in WI.
  • The recipe for Tyler's Scalloped Potatoes does not include ham. I always cut up two ham steaks and throw the cubes in between the layers of potatoes to make a complete meal in one casserole.
  • Tyler's casserole is also a great holiday side dish if made without the ham!
